Zine Workshops
Interested in zine-making, but not sure where to get started? Anchor Archive offers zine-making workshops to groups for a sliding scale fee to cover time and materials. Our workshops introduce what zines are and how to make them.
Zine workshops are particularly fun for youth but can be adapted to any age group or ability level. Typically participants each contribute a page to a collaborative zine, and everyone receives their own copy, or they can make their own mini-zine.
Workshops can be held in the Anchor Archive Zine Library or at your school, library or community group's space. We also occasionally hold drop-in workshops at the Anchor Archive Zine Library.
Our workshops cover:
- History and introduction to zines
- Why make a zine
- Zine-making equipment
- How to get ideas for your zine and plan your zine
- Zine-making process (we make a zine together)
- Zine-making resources
Contact us at anchorarchive@gmail.com if you would like to organize or participate in a workshop.
We also sometimes run workshops on different zine-making topics at the library that are open to anyone. Keep an eye on our website and Instagram for announcements about upcoming workshops.
